Gabriela (Gaby) De Vita, PA-C - Primary Care and Endocrinolo
Gabriela "Gaby" De Vita, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant who brings something rare to primary care: the combined expertise of a medical clinician and a nutrition professional. As a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist and a former Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, she approaches every patient visit with both deep clinical knowledge and a practical understanding of how food, daily habits, and lifestyle choices shape long-term health. She doesn't just treat diabetes and metabolic conditions—she helps people understand their bodies, cut through the confusion, and build a plan that actually fits their life.
Originally from Venezuela, Gaby began her healthcare career in 2015 as a dietitian in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, where she discovered her passion for helping women navigate gestational, type 1, and type 2 diabetes during pregnancy. She later became a certified diabetes educator, guiding patients through complex medication management and insulin therapy. But over time, she saw a bigger need: too many people were struggling with diabetes and metabolic issues in the primary care setting without the comprehensive, ongoing support they deserved. That realization inspired her to expand her training and become a Physician Assistant. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition from Florida International University and her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Detroit Mercy.
Since becoming a PA, Gaby has worked across internal medicine, primary care, and urgent care, and was invited back to her Maternal-Fetal Medicine roots to lead diabetes and insulin pump management for expectant mothers. Before joining our Frisco practice in 2023, she spent years caring for an underserved community in Detroit, where she learned to be resourceful, creative, and relentless about breaking down barriers to care. Her clinical focus includes diabetes and chronic disease management, preventive health, women's health, thyroid disorders, and the latest in diabetes technology. She has a particular gift for translating complex health data into simple, actionable steps, so her patients leave every visit knowing not just what their numbers mean, but exactly what to do next.
Gaby believes healthcare works best when it feels like a partnership, not a lecture. She leads with education and practical guidance, taking the time to explain your condition, your options, and why they matter. Then she works alongside you to build a care plan that respects your preferences, your lifestyle, and your goals. She is fluent in both English and Spanish, and she looks forward to building lasting relationships with her patients here in Frisco—helping you achieve real, sustainable improvements in your health and well-being. When she's not caring for patients, Gaby enjoys spending time with her family, staying active, and discovering new restaurants around DFW.
