Gabriela "Gaby" De Vita, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant in Frisco who brings a unique combination to primary care: the in-depth expertise of a medical clinician and a nutrition professional. As a Certified Diabetes Education Specialist and former Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, she approaches each patient visit with both extensive clinical knowledge and a practical understanding of how food, daily habits, and lifestyle choices impact long-term health. Gaby doesn't just treat diabetes and metabolic conditions—she empowers patients to understand their bodies, navigate through confusion, and develop a personalized plan that truly fits their lives.
Originally from Venezuela, Gaby embarked on her healthcare journey in 2015 as a dietitian in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, where she identified her passion for assisting women with gestational, type 1, and type 2 diabetes during pregnancy. She later became a certified diabetes educator, helping patients manage complex medication and insulin therapy. Over time, she recognized a larger need: many individuals were grappling with diabetes and metabolic issues within primary care environments, lacking the comprehensive and ongoing support they required. This realization motivated her to enhance her training and become a Physician Assistant. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition from Florida International University and her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Detroit Mercy.
Since becoming a PA, Gaby has worked across internal medicine, primary care, and urgent care, and she was invited back to her Maternal-Fetal Medicine roots to lead diabetes and insulin pump management for expectant mothers. Before joining our practice in Frisco in 2023, she dedicated years to serving an underserved community in Detroit, where she developed resourcefulness, creativity, and a relentless commitment to breaking down healthcare barriers. Her clinical focus includes diabetes and chronic disease management, preventive health, women's health, thyroid disorders, and advancements in diabetes technology. She has a unique talent for simplifying complex health data into clear, actionable steps, ensuring her patients leave every visit knowing exactly what their numbers signify and what actions to take next.
